[edit] Geo Tagging Photographs

The assumption is that your camera doesn't have a GPS device within it.

In order to match the location of a photograph, create a point on the GPS device about the same time as you take the photograph. Name the point in some way you recognise. If your camera has date and time so much the better.

The principle then is to extract the points from the GPS device, extract the times of the photographs from the exif data in the photograph and match them up within the time accuracy. Then add the position at which the photograph was taken to the exif data in the photograph, perhaps in the comment field.
